Mole Antonelliana

Turin, Piedmont, Italy

Mole Antonelliana [Italian]

Architecture

The Mole Antonelliana was one of the tallest unreinforced brick buildings in the world before major renovations in the 20th century involving reinforced concrete and steel beams. The original dome is considered the structural extreme that can be built using traditional methods without reinforced concrete.
