Architecture
The Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola is the oldest preserved church in Buenos Aires and is also considered the oldest building in the city. A first adobe church was built in 1675 by the Society of Jesus. The southern tower and the current façade were built in brick in 1686, and the current church was built in the early 18th century.
